1. Who is responsible
The data controller for this website is [controller legal name], registered at [registered address], [company / tax identification number, if applicable]. You can write to us at [contact email address].
2. What we collect
When you request a publication we collect your first name, last name, country, age, gender, email address, the book and language you chose, whether you asked for updates, and the date and time of your request. We also store a one-way technical fingerprint of your connection to prevent abuse.
3. Why we collect it
We process these details to send you the publication you asked for and to understand, in aggregate, which stories reach which parts of the world. If you ticked the optional box, we also use your email to tell you about new stories. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your details for [retention period, e.g. 24 months], unless you ask us to remove them earlier.
5. Where it is stored
Your details are stored on managed database infrastructure hosted in [hosting region, e.g. European Union], which is our primary record. A copy of each download is also synchronised, from our server only, into a private Google Sheet owned by For Tomorrow and accessible only to authorised accounts. No Google credentials are ever exposed to your browser and your details never appear in a web address.
6. Withdrawing marketing consent
The optional updates box is never required to download a story. If you ticked it you can change your mind at any time by writing to [contact email address], and we will stop using your email for updates while keeping only what we must for our records.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or object to it. Write to [contact email address] and we will reply as quickly as we can. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
8. Children
The books are written for children, but this website is meant to be used by an adult. Please do not submit a child's details through this form.
